A Safe Economy: Coffin Adornments from Dublin Cemetery (2013)

These are objects of social inheritance and cultural artifacts from an age of mass production. The reverence industry, and the second of Kierkegarrd's absurdist solutions; The belief in a transcendental realm.  Sacred objects manufactured for the safest
economy, that is the honoring of the dearly departed. 

Production lines of tiny imitation gold messiahs, reminiscent of  ancestor adoration, are nailed to their little crucifixes and shipped away for financial and spiritual consumption becoming all but commodities when their societal function is realised.
