Dream Lover - Seán Guinan | Ramon Kassam | Aidan O'Sullivan | January 22nd - February 6th 2014
Dream Lover is a three-person project at Eight, Dublin, by Irish artists Seán Guinan, Ramon Kassam and Aidan O'Sullivan. It intends to open out to the viewer three distinct yet connected painting practices.
Ramon Kassam is an artist from Limerick City. Painting forms the basis of his practice. He received his BA in Fine Art Painting from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2007 and has exhibited regularly since. Exhibitions include: EVA International – Ireland's Biennale, Limerick (2014). Pallas Projects, Dublin, (solo 2013), Arca Archa, Boston, USA (2012), Limerick City Gallery of Art (2012), Irish Museum of Contemporary Art, Dublin (2010), Occupy Space, Limerick, (solo 2010) & Kuturm, Leipzig, Germany, (2008). He has been awarded a number of residencies. In 2013 he participated on a studio residency at The Irish Museum of Modern Art and the RHA Tony O’Malley Residency Award. In May 2014 he undertook a residency at the Irish Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He is currently working towards a solo project at Limerick City Gallery of Art in summer 2015.
Aidan O'Sullivan was born in Limerick in 1985 and is currently based in London. He graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2007 and completed an MA (Painting) from the Royal College of Art in 2011. Aidan has received numerous awards including the Gordon Luton Award for Fine Art. Recent exhibitions include 'First Come, First Served', Lion and Lamb, London; 'Bethlehem Boy's Club', Building 7, Stoke Newington, London; and 'Artist House 2', Herne Hill, London.
